Erode Sengunthar Engineering College has established a comprehensive set of statutory bodies and committees to ensure transparent governance, student welfare, academic quality, and institutional accountability — in line with UGC, AICTE, NAAC and Supreme Court guidelines.

Anti-Ragging Committee

Mandatory

Functions to ensure compliance with Supreme Court and UGC directives, maintaining a completely ragging-free campus environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prevent all forms of indiscipline and rudeness towards junior students
  • Ensure uninterrupted academic activity on campus
  • Address psychological harm, fear or apprehension among students
  • Handle cases of physical abuse, assault or financial extortion
  • Respond to abuse via spoken words, e-mails or public insult
  • Protect the fundamental rights and human dignity of every student

Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee

Mandatory

Established per UGC, NAAC and Supreme Court guidelines to ensure safety of women and create a healthy, congenial atmosphere for higher education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help women realise their rights to freedom and dignity on campus
  • Treat sexual harassment as a serious misconduct with punitive action
  • Receive, investigate and resolve complaints from aggrieved women
  • Conduct awareness programmes on prevention of sexual harassment
  • Maintain confidentiality of all complaints and proceedings

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

Academic

Oversees quality enhancement and sustenance across all academic and administrative functions in alignment with NAAC standards and OBE framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify student feedback on faculty, department and college
  • Monitor Alumni, Employer and Exit Surveys periodically
  • Audit records — Examinations, Co-curricular and Association Activities
  • Audit Professional Body Activities, Infrastructure and Websites
  • Ensure quality attainment of Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
  • Coordinate DAAC and PAC activities across all departments

Dept. Academic Advisory Committee (DAAC)

Academic

A DAAC within each department suggests measures to bridge curriculum gaps and improve academic content for attainment of POs and PSOs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recommend Content Beyond Syllabus and Value Added Courses
  • Guide on Industrial Visits, Internships and live Projects
  • Bridge curriculum gaps towards PO and PSO attainment
  • Provide industry perspective on curriculum design and delivery
  • Review and strengthen departmental academic programmes regularly

Programme Assessment Committee (PAC)

Academic

Exists for each programme in every department to continuously monitor and evaluate Course Outcomes, Programme Outcomes and Programme Specific Outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Course Outcomes (COs) attainment for every subject
  • Evaluate Programme Outcomes (POs) on a continuous basis
  • Track and assess Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
  • Recommend corrective actions to improve outcome attainment
  • Maintain records and reports for NBA and NAAC accreditation

Common Purchase Committee

Administrative

All major purchases from societies and amenities accounts are routed through this committee to ensure full transparency and credibility in procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive purchase indents from Departments, Committees and Faculty
  • Discuss requirements and evaluate vendor proposals thoroughly
  • Maintain credibility and transparency in all transactions
  • Channelise purchases through approved mechanisms
  • Ensure all procurement complies with applicable policies and norms

Grievance Redressal Committee

Mandatory

Ensures that grievances from students and staff are addressed promptly, fairly and transparently in accordance with UGC guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and register grievances from students and staff members
  • Investigate complaints impartially and recommend appropriate action
  • Ensure timely and fair resolution of all registered grievances
  • Maintain detailed records of complaints and redressal actions
  • Conduct periodic reviews to prevent recurrence of similar issues

Transport Committee

Administrative

A dedicated transport cell manages 30+ buses operating from various locations within 80 km radius, providing safe daily commute for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate services from Erode, Tirupur, Sankari, Kodumudi, Sathyamangalam and more
  • Run a free shuttle to Perundurai bus stand at 6:30 PM every day
  • Maintain and service all transport vehicles regularly
  • Manage ambulance service for campus medical emergencies
  • Coordinate guest transport and official vehicle requirements

Estate & Infrastructure Committee

Administrative

The Estate Office oversees upkeep of all infrastructure, construction works and campus maintenance to ensure a clean, functional learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all buildings, labs and campus infrastructure facilities
  • Oversee ongoing construction and campus renovation projects
  • Supply and manage furniture and fixtures across departments
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the entire campus at all times
  • Manage utilities — electricity, water supply and housekeeping

SC / ST Cell

Mandatory

Works to safeguard the rights and interests of SC and ST students and staff, ensuring a discrimination-free, inclusive environment across campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address grievances of SC/ST students and staff members
  • Facilitate scholarship applications and government scheme benefits
  • Ensure equal opportunity in all academic and campus activities
  • Organise awareness sessions on rights and welfare schemes
  • Liaise with government authorities on SC/ST welfare matters

Women's Cell

Mandatory

Promotes the welfare, safety and empowerment of women students and staff, fostering a gender-sensitive and inclusive campus culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct workshops on women's rights, safety and empowerment
  • Address issues related to gender discrimination promptly
  • Organise events on International Women's Day and related occasions
  • Provide counselling and emotional support to women in distress
  • Coordinate with Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee on complaints

Cultural & Sports Committee

Student Affairs

Organises and oversees all cultural events, sports competitions and co-curricular activities to foster holistic development of students.

  • Plan and conduct annual sports meets and inter-departmental tournaments
